Lisbon, as known as the city of seven hills too, is the capital and largest city of Portugal, and the administrative district of the same name and is located on a bay of the estuary of the Tagus River in the extreme southwest of Europe on the Atlantic coast of the Iberian Peninsula.

The commercial port on the Tagus cove was called ‘Alis Ubbo’ before the Roman domination. Lisbon, founded by the Phoenicians, received under the name of Colonia Felicitas Iuliaroman municipal law in the time of Julius Caesar. After the transfer of the royal residence of Coimbra, the city was founded in 1256 by King Afonso III. as the capital of the Kingdom of Portugal. Around 1500 Lisbon had a brilliant rise to one of the most prestigious commercial and port cities of that time. A massive earthquake in 1755 sealed the economic decline of the city, which had already been used for decades insidiously, and payed for attention in Europe. In the 19th century Lisbon experienced a resurgence. In recent years, the city is, however, massively shrunk (of about 800,000 inhabitants in 1980 to approximately 500,000 by 2010); many people have moved into the region. Lisbon is struggling with serious structural problems, among which stand out above all the dilapidated buildings of many buildings and high traffic volumes.

It was emerged from the sadness of those who draw their family members to great rides to unknown lands have . Maybe the sailors brought the fado from Arab countries to Lisbon. Elements of Arabic music can be found in the emotional vocal pieces. When the “Fadista” (singer) begins his lecture, you could hear a pin drop known as the atmosphere is at least as devoutly as in a church. People in Lisbon love their music and worship of their Fado artists. As a tourist, it is advisable to show the same respect and indulge with enjoying these stories presented in a soft voice. Fado has soul – Fado is pure feeling.

And like “Fado”, the design of our POP PILOT® Fliegeruhr LIS a treat! The rose gold casing comprises a dark olive green dial and is supported by a fresh fuchsia on the bracelet.
