Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. It is located on the Mediterranean Sea, about 120 kilometers south of the Pyrenees and the border to France and it is the eleventh largest municipality of the European Union, to Hamburg, the second largest, which is not the capital of a Member State and to Paris most densely populated metropolis in Europe.

Far beyond the borders of Spain, Barcelona is known as one of the most important cultural cities. You can visit countless monuments – buildings of various styles, museums and wonderful and welcoming designed parks and squares. Every single part of Barcelona spreads his own characteristic and loveable charm.

The diversity of sights in Barcelona ranges from excavations of the 2,000 year old Roman city of Barcino impressive buildings such as the Sagrada Familia and other world-renowned museums amazing architectural feats, both old and new. Therefore it is just true, that no other city has so many buildings that have been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage.

One of the most famous symbol of Barcelona is the Sagrada Familia. The church is huge in its dimensions, which is why it is often referred to as a “cathedral”, but without having a bishopric. On 7.11.2010 the Sagrada Familia by Pope Benedict XVI has been consecrated and thus making it the basilica. Since 1882 the church. After disagreements of the client with the first Arhcitekten took over in 1883 still young Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, which led the construction until his death in 1926 and the construction until today since its inception. The Sagrada Familia is fully expected to end in 2026th.

But not only culturally Barcelona offers much good stuff, even night owls come fully on their costs, albeit later than in many other cities around the world, because the Spanish people eat commonly late in the evening, hence the party life begins gently 1 o’clock before you need to visit a club, unless you want to dance and celebrate alone!

The design of our POP PILOT® Fliegeruhr BCN sketched a little the contrasts between the thousands of years old glorious history of the city and the modernism of the 21st century. Rose gold strikes a cool silver gray – in combination stylish and unique!
